Machen Supply was born from what we saw all around us in our city of Oakland, California.

We saw friends taking a chance on their first home, a run-down home with great bones-- spending their evenings and weekends on their labor of love. We saw our neighbors putting in tomato plants in the front yard, chicken coops in the back. Families growing and canning their own vegetables only a block off the main drag. And doing it all with style, a spirit of adventure, and a vision of urban renewal.

In short, we saw a new generation cultivating a lifestyle of authenticity by doing things by hand. And we thought, wouldn't it be nice if there were a space where one could get access to the fittings, fixtures and materials for cultivating that life? And that's when we started getting to work sourcing some of the best products and wares to outfit your home. Products with style, with heritage, products that we could stand behind.
